Here are some steps that PC users can try to restore their data if they encounter this issue.
Steam
- Close the title and Steam Application entirely.
- Go to the following folder : %localappdata%\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\SaveGames
- Select the folder named with a string of numbers.
- Delete the SaveGameList.sav file.
- Re-open the Steam Application and launch the title.
Epic Games
- Close the title and Epic Games Application entirely.
- Go to the following folder : %localappdata%\HogwartsLegacy\Saved\SaveGames
- Select the folder named with a string of letters & numbers.
- Delete the SaveGameList.sav file.
- Re-open the Epic Games Application and launch the title.
Please note that if you manually deleted a character or save data previously by mistake, these steps will not recover that data.
